Health Bus—First Aid Training on Campus

From May 16 to 17, lecturers of the First Clinical Medical Institute of Wenzhou Medical University, invited by WKU’S Health Service Center, provided students and staff two-day first aid training course. This training was divided into two parts: theoretical training and assessment, and presentation.

On the first day, the lecturer introduced and demonstrated how to dress a wound, how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as dealing with foreign body airway-obstruction in daily life. The 24 students participated in the training all successfully passed the assessment through small group practices and got the certificate of first aid training.

For the second day, students applied their first aid knowledge into “reality” by acting different plays, such as in a situation of rescuing the drowning and administering first aid for electrical shock. This training course drew to a successful close with applause from the staff of Emergency Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and lecturer of Wenzhou Medical University.

The two-day course, short but quite meaningful, the students learned the important lessons and skills which may benefit them for a lifetime. We appreciate the lecturers spending time to offer this training and the active participation of WKU students.
